Bayer intensifies efforts against Child Labour
Bayer is intensifying its efforts against child labor in the Indian cotton seed industry. As part of a wide-reaching campaign due to start this summer in the new hybrid cotton seed season, a program has been developed with the Naandi Foundation to make it possible for more children in the state of Andhra Pradesh to attend school.

 Bayer felicitates cotton seed farmers for not  employing Child labour
“Progressive farmers, in cotton seed production, should focus on higher yields and also strive to set a social example by proactively avoiding the use of child labor in cotton seed production,” said Mr T.Srinivas Rao, one of the farmers’ from Kurnool district felicitated by Proagro, a company of Bayer CropScience, for not employing child labour while producing cotton hybrid seed.

An earthquake measuring 7.6 on the Richter scale struck South Asia on Saturday, October 8, 2005. The epicenter of the quake was in Muzaffarabad, the capital of Pakistan Occupied Kashmir, which is in the Himalayan foothills 96 kilometers northeast of Islamabad, the capital of Pakistan. The effects of this earthquake were felt from Afghanistan in the East to Western parts of Bangladesh.
