Pharmaceuticals

Bayer HealthCare’s Pharmaceuticals Division develops innovative and highly effective pharmaceutical products. Bayer HealthCare’s research program covers life threatening conditions but also disorders that markedly impair quality of life and life expectancy. These include, for example, cardiovascular disorders, cancer, diabetes, bacterial and viral infections, obesity and urological disorders.

In India, the pharmaceuticals division has had a presence since 1963. In the year 2000, Bayer Pharmaceuticals Private Limited was established to entirely focus on the sales and marketing operations of products in order to ensure speed in decision making and concentration on core activities.

The core areas that the Company targets in India include therapeutic segments ranging from Metabolics, Anti-infectives, Antifungals, Tonics, Antimalarials and Anti-histamines. Some of the more popular products are Glucobay (prevention and control of diabetes), Baycip (the broad-spectrum ciprofloxacin), Canesten (anti-fungal), Mycospor (anti-fungal cream) Resochin (an anti-malarial), Bayer’s Tonic (an appetizer) and Incid-L (anti-histamine).
